Sweden is regarded as one of the least corrupt coubtries in the world. In the beginning of the 19th century however, sweden was still a corrupt society. This paper anaylses the processes during the 19th century, during which the Swedish public adminstration was transformed into a Weberian one. In particular, the influence of the liberal opposition during the 1830s and 1840s and to the extent to which these new groups and generation entering politics, actually tries to influence legislation in a more Weberian direction.
