While frequent assertions are made about the uses and misuses of information in migration politics and policy-making, we know relatively little about the sources of information that are relied upon by actors within migration governance systems. This paper draws from evidence gathered as part of a European research Council funded project to explore the main sources of information that are used by actors within the EU migration governance system and to understand more about the value ascribed to these sources, The paper will identify various types and sources of information and explore their relationship to the broader constitution of knowledge of and about international migration.
