278 The European Commission: New Perspectives on the EU Executive

Although there is a lively debate about its decline relative to other institutions, especially in relation to recent challenges, the European Commission remains a key actor in the EU political system. Focusing on issues relating to leadership, coordination and socialization personnel and personnel policy in the European Commission, the papers in this panel present original research from on-going projects conducted by authors based at six Universities in four countries. All combine data from large n surveys with qualitative source material in a mixed methods approach.
