So far it can be stated that the "double" transformation of Central Eastern European countries in the inter-war period has attracted little interest in research. Especially, the transformation processes in the inter-war period need further research to re-evaluate the history of democracy and nationalization in these countries. This paper will shed light on the specific problems by using the example of the Second Polish Republic. The re-established Polish state, multi ethnically molded, was faced by democratization with simultaneous stabilization of the new political system in the inter-war period. The dynamics of these processes will be explored on the basis of social disputes. On the one hand, the paper will focus on minorities, on the other hand on female discourse(s). By doing so, in particular, democracy understanding, concepts of democracy and nationality, and feelings as factors will be examined more closely. Additionally, it will include reflections on recent research concepts to contribute to a revalidation of the history of democratization and nationalization.
