EU Law Stories is an upcoming book aiming to shift the current dominant approach from the doctrinal evolution of EU law to a more contextual, historical and comparative understanding of the dimensions in which EU law has developed. In doing so the book’s interdisciplinary approach is crucial to show how other dimensions of European integration have influenced the jurisprudence of the ECJ. In addition, the rich background of our authors coming from different disciplinary training as well as different parts of the world (United States, Europe, Australia and Canada) provides us with a unique perspective on the evolution of the EU jurisprudence through the lenses of archival work, transatlantic history, interviews with litigants, judges, advocates generals, lawyers and referendaires who worked for the judges in these cases.  The book explores Europe's legal evolution and capacity to survive in an ever changing societal and legal landscape.
