128 Radical Movement Cultures, Frames and their Transmission

Friday, April 15, 2016: 2:00 PM-3:45 PM
Assembly E (DoubleTree by Hilton Philadelphia Center City)
Do radical right wing movements develop a culture of masculinity? Are radical movements in current times connected with a young rebellious spirit expressed through music and festivals?  Do they use a hidden language and symbols in order to hide controversial ideas from the general public? Do neo-fascist intellectuals make use of the language and spirit of progressive ideologies? This panel weaves between ideology, symbolic language and cultural expressions; it traces the new language of radical movements and examines its individuals through their corporal and symbolic expressions.
