The Rage Against Globalization: Betrayal of the Elites or Betrayal of Democracy?

This paper will focus first and foremost on questioning the similarities and differences with the raise of fascism in the past and question whether the responses to current anxieties, would be to reinforce liberal, multicultural, and cosmopolitan values, or whether the left should 'reinvent an integrative  populism" to confront nativist populism of the right. What are the odds for this to be done.   In order to do so, some examples of the Latin American experience will be used.
