E0.02 (VOC Room) (Oost-Indisch Huis)
This paper examines the contributions that historical institutionalism has made to the study of the European integration, in particular supranational institutions. With a particular focus on the European Commission and the European Court of Justice, it details how attention to particular historical institutionalist concepts (path dependence, layering, and more) resolve empirical puzzles about the structure and evolution of European institutions.
