The crisis of the Euro lies in the context of a global network of 'fault lines’ – creditor to debtor, east and west, north and south. It embraces elements of culture, interests, institutions, raising important debates concerning interpretation and explanation in the social sciences. It challenges policy and application of knowledge to public discourse and behavior. It raises issues of democracy and equality, cooperation and justice. This panel offers thoughts concerning these important questions from a European and multidisciplinary perspective.
