Did Euroscepticism evolve differently in EU Member States that are not participating in the third phase of the Euro compared to EU Member States that are full EMU members? This paper answers this question by exploring the evolution of Euroscepticism from when the third phase of the EMU was initiated in 1999 to 2014. Particular focus will be paid on the period between 2007-2014, where the Eurozone was thrown into its most severe crisis till date. Thus, the paper answers to what extent the crisis has strengthened EU ties in countries that were Eurozone Members vis-à-vis countries that remained outside the Euro but where still EU members. The paper relies on large-n data from European Social Survey (2002 -2012) as well as the bi-annual Eurobarometer Survey. The analysis includes all current 28 EU Member States to the extent they were members of the EU/the EMU third phase during the period under investigation.
