Research shows a strong connection between gender, precariousness and the use of flexible labour relations. There is strong evidence that in particular women working in certain sectors and under specific labour contracts are active on the labour market, often full-time, but have difficulties to earn a sustainable income for themselves and their families from their work. Flexicurity has not necessarily resulted in decent work, in particular not at the low-wage end of the labour market. The role of intermediaries and triangular labour relations on the labour market and issues like (public) procurement in for instance the care sector needs special attention. All the abovementioned issues related to women position in the labour market as vulnerable workers will be discussed on this paper.
