The master frame developed by Catalan Nationalism implies that one of the main reasons to explain its radicalization is the failed accommodation of nationalist demands by the Spanish “Estado de las Autonomías”. The development of this social movement has polarized the old paradigm of Catalan party politics since the transition to democracy, opening opportunities for different political forces. The aim of the paper is to assess the nationalist hypothesis through the analysis of mobilization of new nationalist actors with secessionist political identities, and its organizational and communications network.
