The relationship between the principle of self- determination and the so-called "dret a decidir" (or "right to decide") is assesed. The democratic credentials of this alleged collective right from the standpoint of the egalitarian principle of affected interests is analyzed. Does Catalonia qualify for the collective right of self-determination from either the standpoint of constitutional or international law? Does it does qualify for this right from the standpoint of power-sensitive, democratic theory?
