135 German Politics at the Crossroads

Thursday, March 29, 2018: 4:00 PM-5:45 PM
Center Court (InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile)
This panel focuses on German politics after the watershed election of 2017 in which, for the first time in post-war history, a far right party entered the German Bundestag. At the same time, parties at the opposite end of the political spectrum, such as the Greens and the Left, won near-record shares of the vote as well. This panel examines these polarizing trends through various lenses.
