The contribution will focus on the impact of the surge of refugees and subsequent legal measures adopted on the EU level on Czech legal order. In particular, it will analyse the Czech position towards EU-introduced "quotas" for asylum-seekers and their implementation, other legislative measures aimed at handling increased numbers of asylum-seekers as well as broader anti-terrorism arrangements. Even though the Czech Republic has been in these areas less active than some other Central European countries, overview of these (in)activities is indispensable for the sake of international comparison. Factual situation in the Czech Republic will be outlined as well, including the actual number of asylum applications and handling thereof. At the same time, possible new trends in decision making of competent authorities will be identified, as well as any shifts in relevant jurisprudence. All these considerations will be set on the background of the pre-crisis asylum and anti-terrorism legislation in the Czech Republic.
